Material Needs

The 13,500 men, women, and children who live in the Bánica Mission live on the edge of extreme poverty. Most live in sub-standard housing. Approximately 25% do not have any bathroom facility in their home, i.e., an outhouse.

Many are undernourished and lack access to basic medical care. For example, the small hospital in Bánica is not able to treat broken bones and so patients must be transported over an hour away to a larger hospital.

Steady progress is being made to make potable water accessible to more and more communities.
